About the Buderus SB625WS

The SB625WS is a stainless steel condensing boiler with a lightly pressurized combustion chamber and turbulators in the tube bundle, designed to condense flue gas in commercial mechanical rooms. The installation manual's technical table lists six sizes: 160 (563 MBH NG input, 532 gross output, 85.3 gal water), 220 (788 / 745 / 95.1), 290 (1,014 / 959 / 130.7), 370 (1,314 / 1,243 / 146.6), 480 (1,689 / 1,598 / 196.2) and 640 (2,200 / 2,081 / 203.4). All sizes are 80 psi maximum working pressure with 210 °F maximum working temperature.

The SB625WS is discontinued: it has its own product page under Bosch's US 'Discontinued Boilers' section, and its installation/operating manuals and UL-listed burner sheet remain online. It is a boiler block that needs a field-supplied burner; the burner sheet groups approved Riello gas and dual-fuel burners by size and states the boiler may only be sold with burners included in the UL listing. Boilers.ca notes the relationship to the later SSB family (series-bosch-ssb), which replaced the SB series in the commercial condensing catalog.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SB625WS still sold?

No. It appears on Bosch's US 'Discontinued Boilers' page with its manuals, and it is no longer in the current commercial catalog; the Buderus SSB family is the current commercial condensing line.

What burners can be used on an SB625WS?

Only burners included in the UL listing: Bosch's recommended-burners engineering submittal sheet groups approved Riello gas and dual-fuel models by size and states that using any other burner requires a UL field evaluation before commissioning.

How much water does the largest SB625WS hold?

The 640 size holds 203.4 US gallons (770 l), per the installation manual technical table.
