About Carrier
Carrier publishes its residential catalogue from carrier.com, and its current boilers page lists five products: the Performance 86 oil boilers BW5 and BW4, the Performance 84 gas boiler BW3, the Comfort 80 gas boiler BS2 and the Comfort 84 gas boiler BWB. The official pages print the gas models' efficiency (up to 84.4% AFUE for BW3, 82.7% for BS2 and 84% for BWB), cast iron heat exchangers, single-stage gas valves and electronic ignition, and Carrier's consumer brochure adds that BS2 is the steam-rated model in the family while BW3 and BWB are water boilers. Carrier Canada's residential site, carrier.ca, lists air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps and ductless systems with no boilers in the current line-up, so Boilers.ca records canadianStatus 'unknown'.
The legacy generations are documented from Carrier's own document library. The BW9 is a gas-fired direct vent condensing water boiler whose official user's information manual covers model sizes BW9-50 through BW9-200, and the BWC/BWH wall-hung condensing boiler is documented by its own user's information manual (model numbers BWCAAG000120-150 and BWHAAG000120-150, CAC/BDP, July 2020). The BWM gas boiler also has a published user's information manual (OG-BWMA-01, Rev. A, July 2012), and Carrier's boiler limited warranty chart lists BW9/BWM with a 15-year heat exchanger warranty and BWC/BWH with a 12-year heat exchanger warranty.
Carrier is the parent company of the Bryant brand - Bryant's site identifies itself as 'A Carrier Company' and carrier.com's Our Brands page lists Bryant among its heating and cooling brands. Model-level pages are not published for Carrier's gas boilers because the official pages and documents reviewed here do not print per-model rating rows; owners of installed units should keep the unit's own manual with the boiler and have all gas, combustion and venting work performed by a licensed contractor.
