Tool · Rebate checker
Which rebate programs may actually apply?
Four questions — property type, current fuel, income band and project — screen the six programs published in the Boilers.ca rebate guides. Every result links to the guide and the official program page; amounts and deadlines stay there, where they are dated and sourced.
Rebate eligibility · 4 questions
Programs change. Eligibility is confirmed at quote time.
This checker screens the six programs documented in the Boilers.ca rebate guides against the answers you gave. It does not restate amounts, deadlines or document lists — those live in the guides and on the official pages, which always override anything here. No amount is promised and no application is approved by this site.
Answer the four questions
The list of programs that may apply appears once every question has an answer — “Not sure” is a valid answer. The result is a screening, not a decision.
How this works
Six documented programs, screened honestly
The checker only knows the programs already published on this site, and it says “may apply” — never “you qualify”. Eligibility rules live on the official pages and can change at any time.
| Program | Who it is for | Guide | Official page |
|---|---|---|---|
| FortisBC Connect to Gas | A rebate for existing homes that bring in a new FortisBC natural gas service and convert primary space heating from oil or propane to eligible natural gas equipment, including boilers and combination systems. | Boilers.ca guide | FortisBC Connect to Gas page |
| FortisBC commercial gas boiler rebate | A rebate for eligible high-efficiency natural gas boilers serving a site's industrial process heating, for FortisBC gas customers outside the residential rate. | Boilers.ca guide | FortisBC Gas boiler rebate page |
| FortisBC heating system optimization | Fixed rebates for efficiency measures on existing commercial gas boilers — economizers, combustion trim, parallel positioning, blowdown control and tune-ups. | Boilers.ca guide | FortisBC heating system optimization page |
| CleanBC Home Renovation Rebate | The province-wide program for households at any income level: insulation, windows and doors, heat pump water heaters and heat pump conversions, with northern conversion rebates for fossil-fuel-heated homes. | Boilers.ca guide | CleanBC Home Renovation Rebate Program page |
| CleanBC Energy Savings Program | The income-qualified stream: the largest rebates for replacing fossil-fuel heating with a heat pump, scaled by household income level, with pre-registration required before work starts. | Boilers.ca guide | CleanBC Energy Savings Program page |
| CGHAP / ECAP no-cost retrofits | No-cost home retrofits for income-qualified homeowners and tenants, delivered in B.C. by BC Hydro and FortisBC through the Energy Conservation Assistance Program. | Boilers.ca guide | NRCan Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program page |
01
No amounts are restated
Rebate amounts, deadlines and document lists change and are printed on the official pages. The checker links there instead of copying numbers that could age badly. The guides carry the figures with their access dates.
02
The honest answers are included
No current residential program pays a rebate for replacing a gas boiler with another gas boiler. The checker says so plainly when that is the project, rather than implying a rebate exists.
03
Stacking is a program rule
Some programs cannot be combined for the same upgrade, and each has its own application timing. The conditions under each result are the ones to check before committing to equipment or a contractor.

Tools and your service
A screening narrows the field; a quote confirms the fit
Program fit depends on the address, the utility account, the income documents and the exact equipment — details a web form cannot verify. ROMA documents the system, equipment, permit and invoice details the applications ask for.
- Eligibility and the rebate position for your address are confirmed at quote time, before work is scheduled.
- The replacement scope is planned so the invoice and model information match what an application needs.
- Where a program pays through the contractor or requires pre-registration, the sequence is set before equipment is ordered.
If you smell gas
- Stop what you are doing. Do not use phones, switches, matches or anything that can spark inside.
- Go outside and leave the door open behind you.
- Call the FortisBC 24-hour emergency line at 1-800-663-9911 or dial 911.
Only after that, call ROMA about the boiler. Official guidance: FortisBC gas leaks and odour.
