About Weil-McLain

Weil-McLain Canada is a separate Canadian entity from the US operation (WM Technologies LLC): the footer of weil-mclain.ca states it is a "100% Canadian owned and operated company" at 4390 Paletta Court, Burlington, Ontario, with Canadian assembly and more than 60 years in the Canadian heating market. The products documented on Boilers.ca are the units weil-mclain.ca sells as current residential gas boilers.

The current Canadian residential line-up is Simplicity (110/150/199, usable as a combi or heat-only boiler), ECO Tec in heat-only sizes 80-199 and combi sizes 110-199, the Evergreen condensing line (EVG 110/155/220/299/399), the floor-standing cast-aluminum Ultra (80-399) and the cast-iron GV90+ (70-175). All of the current condensing products are Category IV direct-vent appliances, and their manuals cite CAN/CSA B149.1 (or B149.2) and ULC S636-compliant vent kits for Canadian installations.

Weil-McLain Canada lists CGa, CGi, AquaBalance, WM97+ and the original ECO on its Discontinued menu. Its news release of April 27, 2023 announced a production cut-off of June 30, 2023 for CGa and CGi, driven by the federal efficiency standard for non-condensing residential boilers under 300,000 BTUH, with parts support promised for 20+ years. Because AquaBalance and CGa/CGi remain current on the US site, the manuals that owners and technicians use are generation-specific: the US CGa Series 4 and CGi Series 5 documents describe units built after the generation Weil-McLain Canada last sold.

Frequently asked questions

Why do Canadian and US Weil-McLain boiler lines differ?

Weil-McLain Canada is a separately owned company from the US operation, and Canadian rules froze certain lines at older generations. Canada stopped selling CGa and CGi after the June 30, 2023 production cut-off, while the US still sells CGa Series 4 and CGi Series 5; the Canadian CGa/CGi data reflects the older Series 3-era units. Always match manual, parts and settings to the generation on the unit's own rating plate.

Are CGa or CGi boilers still available in Canada?

No, not as new products. Weil-McLain Canada's April 2023 news release states production of the CGa and CGi ended on June 30, 2023 under federal efficiency standards, with the remaining inventory available only while supplies last and parts supported for at least 20+ years.

Does ROMA Heating & Cooling supply or service Weil-McLain boilers?
