How old is my boiler? Documented serial schemes only
Four manufacturers publish a serial-number scheme in their own current literature, and this tool uses exactly those four — nothing else. If a serial does not match a documented pattern, the tool says so and links you to the manufacturer's own lookup and to ROMA. It never guesses a year.
How this works
The four documented schemes, and nothing else
The catalogue on Boilers.ca records brands whose serial formats are not published, too — but no guide and no decode is written for them. This tool follows the same rule.

Where a serial does not match, the tool routes to the serial-number guides, the manufacturer's own lookup and a call CTA — because a wrong age estimate leads to wrong warranty dates and wrong part generations.
Tools and your service
The serial number is the starting point, not the answer
A documented date feeds the repair-or-replace conversation, a parts order and a warranty check. The work itself is done on site.
- Repairs: the model and serial confirm the generation so the right part arrives once.
- Replacements: a known age makes the repair-versus-replace comparison evidence-based.
- Recall checks: prefix-based recall scopes are a safety step — the Triangle Tube flag above is exactly that.
Photograph the rating plate on the first visit
The model and serial on a service record are what future parts orders, warranty claims and recall checks reference. A photo taken once saves a return visit later.
If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds
- Leave the building immediately and get fresh air.
- Call 911. Do not go back inside until emergency services say it is safe.
- Have every fuel-burning appliance inspected before use.
Only after that, call ROMA about the boiler. Official guidance: Health Canada on carbon monoxide.
The Triangle Tube recall flag above is prefix-based, and the recall window itself is defined by manufacture date — which that manufacturer does not publish a decode for. Always confirm on the official recall page.

Serial does not match a documented scheme?
Call 778-909-5731 with the model and serial from the rating plate. ROMA confirms the equipment on site and the manufacturer's support line settles the date.
