Triangle Tube boilers in Canada

Triangle Tube was the North American manufacturer of Prestige, Excellence, Instinct and Challenger condensing boilers, owned by France's Groupe Atlantic, and sold in Canada through regional reps such as Equipco and J F Taylor. The company ceased operations on November 3, 2025, and a joint Health Canada/CPSC recall (February 2025) covers Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem boilers made December 2011 to April 2019 — so Boilers.ca documents this brand for the large installed base and for service and repair, not for new purchases.

About Triangle Tube

Triangle Tube marketed gas condensing boilers and hot-water products across North America and, per its own About Us page, was owned and operated by Groupe Atlantic, whose headquarters are in La Roche sur Yon, France. Its boiler line spanned the flagship Prestige Solo fire-tube boilers (Solo 80 to 399), the Prestige Excellence combi, the Instinct wall and floor series, and the older Challenger condensing line. There was no Canadian subsidiary or .ca domain: the brand sold in Canada from the US corporation through its sales network, which its official sales-network page lists as Equipco branches (West, East, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg and Atlantic) and J F Taylor Enterprises, plus the US-based training and support centre in West Deptford, New Jersey.

The site banner on every page states that Triangle Tube ceased operations effective November 3, 2025: outstanding equipment and accessory orders as of that date were not processed, spare parts were made available through stocking distributors while they last, and purchases after November 3, 2025 carry no warranty. The boilers documented on Boilers.ca are therefore presented for the large installed base in Canada and for owners, service contractors and parts sourcing — not as equipment to buy new.

In February 2025 Triangle Tube conducted a voluntary safety recall of Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem condensing gas boilers in cooperation with Health Canada and the US CPSC, after reports of carbon monoxide leaks linked to delayed ignitions or component damage. Health Canada's notice states that 7,500 affected units were sold in Canada (60,000 in the US), sold from December 2011 to April 2019 and manufactured in Belgium by Burnsen SA, with serial prefixes PT/PTE/PA/PEA/AE. Owners of affected-era units should verify their boiler's serial prefix against the official recall information listed in the sources on this page.

Each series hub lists its models, verified specifications, manuals and documented alerts.

  • Prestige Solo

    discontinued

The Prestige Solo was Triangle Tube's flagship wall-hung condensing fire-tube boiler line: Solo 80, 110, 155, 175, 250, 299 and 399, rated 95% AFUE (Solo 80-299) with up to 5.5:1 turndown and the CTRLMax control. Documented here for the large installed base: Triangle Tube ceased operations November 3, 2025, and February 2025 recall coverage includes PA/PT-prefixed Prestige Solo units made December 2011-April 2019.

  • The Prestige Excellence was Triangle Tube's flagship combi: the Excellence 110, a 95% AFUE condensing combi on the CTRLMax control with 20 to 110 MBH input and on-demand domestic hot water with a 14-gallon internal domestic capacity. It is documented for the installed base — the product page was removed from the site before operations ceased on November 3, 2025, and PTE/PEA-prefixed Excellence units are on the February 2025 recall.

  • Instinct

    discontinued

The Instinct series was Triangle Tube's stainless-steel fire-tube condensing line introduced during the CTRLMax era: wall-hung (INS) and floor (INSFS) versions of the 110S/155S/199S solos plus 155C/199C combis, all rated 95% AFUE with up to 8:1 turndown. It is documented for the installed base — Instinct pages were part of the site frozen at the November 3, 2025 cessation, and the last manual revisions are dated 09/2025.

  • Challenger

    discontinued

The Challenger was Triangle Tube's earlier condensing boiler family — a condensing design despite the common assumption otherwise — sold as solos (submittals CC85, CC105, CC125, CC150) for use with an indirect tank and as 'Two in One' combis (CC85, CC105, CC125). Its pages were archived in 2019 and gone from the site years before the November 3, 2025 cessation, so only archived literature documents it.

  • The Phase III was Triangle Tube's indirect water heater line in two families — the TR series (TR-20 through TR-120) and the SMART series (SMART 20 through SMART 100) — storing 20-119 gallons of domestic water in stainless steel tanks heated by the system boiler.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check whether my Triangle Tube boiler is part of the February 2025 recall?

Find the Boiler Rating Label (Health Canada locates it on the white front panel, on a panel on the right side of the boiler, or behind the boiler front door) and check the serial number prefix. The February 2025 recall covers Prestige Solo, Prestige Excellence and Aerco Esteem condensing gas boilers whose serial numbers begin PT, PTE, PA, PEA or AE, manufactured December 2011 through April 2019. The official recall list and verification tool are on the recall website referenced on this page; Health Canada's joint recall notice is the authoritative record for Canada. Eligible consumers were required to register with Triangle Tube for the remedy by January 31, 2026, after which new registrations were no longer accepted, per the 2025 recall page.

Is Triangle Tube still selling boilers?

No. The banner on the official site states that Triangle Tube ceased operations effective November 3, 2025, and that orders for finished goods or accessories as of that date would not be processed. Boilers.ca documents the Prestige, Excellence, Instinct and Challenger lines so owners and technicians can still identify models, specifications and manuals for the installed base.

Is Triangle Tube the same company as ACV?

Triangle Tube's 2015-era Prestige manual was branded 'ACV-Triangle Tube', and Health Canada identifies Belgian manufacturer Burnsen SA, Seneffe as the maker of the 2011-2019 recalled generation — the ACV relationship concerns those Belgium-made generations. The live About Us page instead describes current ownership by Groupe Atlantic (also owner of Ideal Boilers). No separate ACV brand pages exist on triangletube.com.
