About the Avenger Series

Camus markets the Avenger as a two-pass counter-flow firetube commercial boiler for hydronic heating: models 1,000 up to 6,000 MBH with thermal efficiencies up to 98% and turndown ratios up to 40:1 (the current category page; the homepage's Avenger Series II feature prints up to 96% for the 5,000 and 6,000 MBH sizes). The pressure vessel, tubes and tubesheets are fully welded stainless steel with ASME 'H' and 'HLW' stamps, 160 PSI working pressure and operating pressure down to 12 PSI.

The first heat-exchanger pass uses stainless rifled tubes to increase gas turbulence; the burner is 100% stainless with a dual gas train for low-NOx combustion, and combustion is sealed. Controls are the Honeywell SOLA system with VFD modulation, Modbus RTU and cascade of up to eight boilers.

Downloads split the family as AR1000–4000 and AR5000–6000 (Avenger Series I and Series II). The archived 2020 official page printed 25:1 turndown, while today's page prints up to 40:1 — Boilers.ca records the current figure and notes the change rather than blending the two.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the Avenger a condensing boiler?

Yes. Camus lists the Avenger among its condensing commercial firetube boilers, and the Series II homepage feature states thermal efficiencies of up to 96% for the two largest sizes.

What sizes does the Avenger come in?

The product page prints 'Models 1,000 up to 6,000 MBH'. Camus' download library splits the family into AR1000–4000 (Avenger Series I) and AR5000–6000 (Avenger Series II).

What pressure can an Avenger run at?

Camus prints 160 PSI working pressure with the boiler able to operate at pressures as low as 12 PSI, and the pressure vessel carries ASME 'H' and 'HLW' stamps.
