Carrier Carrier BWM (legacy gas boiler)

The BWM is documented by Carrier's own user's information manual, published under document number OG-BWMA-01 (240009720, Rev. A, July 2012) and hosted in Carrier's document library. The manual is a user's information manual: it directs that maintenance and service be completed by a qualified agency, explains what to do if the boiler overheats (shut off the gas supply at a location external to the appliance rather than disconnecting the pump), and covers the safety checks an owner may perform, including the warning against using a boiler that has been under water.

Carrier's boiler limited warranty chart (39004DP565, April 2020) lists the BWM with the BW9, with a 15-year heat exchanger warranty and a 10-year parts term (5 years if not registered within 90 days). The BWM does not appear on Carrier's current US boilers page, so Boilers.ca records the series productStatus as 'unknown' rather than claiming a discontinuation date, and canadianStatus 'unknown' because no Canadian sales statement was found.

The manual text reviewed for this record does not print the boiler type, mounting arrangement or per-model rating rows, so Boilers.ca records boilerType as 'unknown' and publishes no model-level records for the BWM. Owners of an installed unit should keep the manual with the boiler and have all gas, combustion and venting work performed by a licensed contractor.
