Laars MagnaTherm MGH 2500 in practice
The MGH 2500 is the 2,499 MBH size of Laars' MagnaTherm condensing stainless-steel water-tube platform, documented in the Document 1429 submittal and the Document 1398 I&O. The submittal sizing table lists 500-2,499 MBH input, 475-2,374 MBH output, 95% boiler thermal efficiency and 93.8% combustion efficiency, with 31 gallons of water content and a 1985 lb shipping weight.
Every MagnaTherm carries the Laars Linc touchscreen control with auto cascade, intelligent redundancy and quick-start setup, plus Laars Vari-Prime pump control that varies boiler pump speed to hold a fixed, user-selectable temperature rise. The boiler modulates down to 20% of full fire for a 5:1 turndown, is certified for indoor and outdoor placement with natural gas and low NOx, and carries an ASME 'H' stamp at 160 psi; electrical packages cover 120, 240, 480 or 600 VAC.
Best suited to
- Large commercial hydronic loads near 2,499 MBH input
- Plants that want the Laars Linc cascade and Vari-Prime pump control
- Indoor or outdoor installations that need a small-footprint water-tube boiler
