About the RX Series (premix gas burners)

The RX Series is Riello's premix gas burner family. Riello's official range pages describe the RX S/PV ULN burners as premix-combustion burners in which 'the perfect mixture of air and gas is created inside the burner suction line circuit', producing a compact flame at the metal-fibre combustion head, with ultra-low NOx emissions, brushless variable-speed fan control, proportional gas valves, pilot-flame ignition and turndown ratios up to 6:1. A burner is not a boiler: it is the flame and gas-train assembly that a boiler manufacturer or installer mounts on a boiler, hot-air generator or other fired equipment.

The official 2025 Technical Sales Catalogue lists the current RX ranges and their heat outputs: RX 180-360 S/PV ULN with RX 180 (30-160 kW), RX 250 (40-225 kW) and RX 360 (60-325 kW); RX 500-1000 S/PV ULN with RX 500 (80-440 kW), RX 700 (140-630 kW), RX 850 (170-790 kW) and RX 1000 (180-970 kW); RX 1500 S/E ULN (270-1,650 kW); and RX 1800-3000 S/E ULN with RX 1800 (300-1,940 kW), RX 2500 (375-2,485 kW) and RX 3000 (640-3,210 kW). The catalogue prints the RX 180-360 S/PV ULN technical data at 0.51 kW total electrical power, 230/1/50-60 supply, CE certification and part numbers 20160021 (RX 180), 20160022 (RX 250) and 20148871 / 20171627 (RX 360).

The catalogue notes that RX S/PV ULN models operate on natural gas and LPG, and that the RX 180-360 and RX 500-1000 ranges are certified for natural-gas/hydrogen blends up to 20%vol; the H2-ready range page prints NOx ≤ 30 mg/Nm³ and the international RX range page prints ultra-low NOx emissions (NOx ≤ 3 mg/Nm³) for the premix family. Riello's own range page adds that an order for the RX S/PV ULN range is accompanied by a detailed quotation prepared by Riello sales offices and/or technicians because the boiler type, door thickness, gas and stack conditions must be studied first.

Riello's official market selector lists Canada as one of its markets, but the captured burner pages print no per-product Canadian approval statement, so canadianStatus is unknown. Boilers.ca documents the RX Series as combustion equipment so that owners of Riello-fired boilers can identify the burner family; it is not a boiler hub and no boiler performance is claimed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Riello RX Series a boiler?

No. RX is a family of premix gas burners — the combustion equipment that mounts on a boiler or generator. Riello is a burner manufacturer; Boilers.ca documents the RX Series so a burner can be identified, and does not present it as a boiler.

What output does an RX burner cover?

Per Riello's 2025 Technical Sales Catalogue, individual RX S/PV ULN models run from 30-160 kW (RX 180) up to 180-970 kW (RX 1000), and the larger RX S/E ULN models run from 270-1,650 kW (RX 1500) to 640-3,210 kW (RX 3000).

What fuels can an RX burner use?

Natural gas and LPG. The RX 180-360 and RX 500-1000 S/PV ULN ranges are additionally certified for natural-gas/hydrogen blends up to 20%vol. Fuel selection and gas-train design are licensed trade work.

Does Boilers.ca sell or service Riello burners?

Boilers.ca is a ROMA Heating & Cooling resource about boilers; supply and service arrangements for Riello equipment are made with Riello distributors and licensed contractors. Contact details for ROMA are on the site.
