What actually separates them

Camus publishes two condensing spec sheets for the 502–6024 generation: a hydronic-heating sheet (99-0145 Rev 01) and a domestic-hot-water sheet (99-0144 Rev 01). Both print the same size table, and for the 0502 size both print 500 MBTU/hr input and 475 MBTU/hr output with a 593 lb shipping weight, 5:1 turndown (minimum 20% firing rate) and up to 95% thermal efficiency.

What differs is the certification and the published capacity basis. The heating model is design certified to ANSI Z21.13 / CSA 4.9 for hydronic heating; the DHW model is certified to ANSI Z21.10 / CSA 4.3 and its spec sheet adds recovery-capacity rows (for the 0502: 569 GPH / 2,154 LPH at a 100°F rise). Both share the 439 stainless six-pass watertube exchanger at 160 psig and Category II/IV venting.

The choice is the application, not the size: a hydronic plant uses the heating certification, while a domestic-hot-water system uses the DHW model and its recovery ratings. The official heating sheet prints the model designation DF(N,P)W for the heating range — Boilers.ca reproduces that printed code and records the discrepancy in the model editor notes.

Frequently asked questions

Are these two different boilers?

They are the same 0502 condensing size published under two certifications: hydronic heating (99-0145) and domestic hot water (99-0144). Ratings for input, output, weight and efficiency match.

Which one has recovery ratings?

The DHW model: spec sheet 99-0144 prints recovery at 100°F/56°C, 80°F/44°C and 60°F/33°C rises. The heating sheet prints input/output and flow instead.

Do both condense?

Both are 502-generation models rated up to 95% thermal efficiency with Category II/IV venting; the heating sheet's vent sentence says near-condensing while its title says Condensing, which Boilers.ca records as printed.
