What actually separates them

P-K's submittal prints the N750MFD at 750,000 BTU/hr input / 638,000 BTU/hr output with a 150,000 BTU/hr minimum, and the N1000MFD at 1,000,000 / 850,000 with a 166,000 BTU/hr minimum. Both modulate at 5:1.

Everything physical is shared: the same 54" × 32" × 52" shipping dimensions, 800 lb operating and 820 lb shipping weights, 6.2 gallons of water, 116 sq. ft. of heated wet surface, 8" combustion-air stub, 6" exhaust (5" with adapter), 1-1/4" NPT gas and 2-1/2" NPT supply/return connections.

The flow rate at a 20°F ΔT is the practical difference — 63.8 GPM on the N750 against 85 GPM on the N1000 — which sets the near-boiler piping and pump sizing. Both are forced-draft non-condensing boilers requiring Category II or IV venting at up to 88% efficiency.
