Laars Pennant PNCH 750 in practice
The PNCH 750 is the 750,000 BTU/hr hydronic size of Laars' Pennant modular boiler line, documented in the Document 1558 submittal and the Document 1373 I&O. The submittal sizing table lists 750,000 BTU/hr input, 638,000 BTU/hr output, 85% AHRI-certified thermal efficiency, a 1-1/4" gas connection, 2" water connections and a 735 lb shipping weight.
The Pennant is a fan-assisted, non-condensing design with a 10-tube heat exchanger using finned copper or cupronickel tubing, glass-lined cast iron or bronze headers and non-ferrous waterways, running on natural or LP gas with NOx below 10 ppm and stage firing up to 4:1. It uses the Laars Linc control with cascade and auto redundancy, and its Category I or III fan-assisted venting can connect from the top or back of the unit.
Best suited to
- Commercial hydronic loads near 750,000 BTU/hr input
- Buildings that need staged, non-condensing capacity with the Laars Linc control
- Retrofit plants with existing Category I or III venting
