Navien · Series
The NPN-E is the exterior half of Navien's non-condensing NPN tankless water heater line — NPN-160E, NPN-180E and NPN-199E, rated 0.81 UEF with the same 10,700 BTU/h minimum fire and 55–60 lb cabinet as the universal NPN-U. It is a DHW-only water heater, not a boiler.
Series facts
The NPN-E is the outdoor (exterior) version of Navien's non-condensing NPN tankless water heater: the same 0.81 UEF stainless-steel NaviTech platform as the NPN-U, packaged for wall-hung outdoor installation. Like the rest of the NPN family it produces domestic hot water only, and Navien's launch materials position the series as a lower-cost, non-condensing alternative to the NPE line with recirculation control built into the circuit board.
Three E sizes mirror the U line: NPN-160E fires 10,700 to 160,000 BTU/h with 7.6 GPM maximum flow at a 35°F rise; NPN-180E fires 10,700 to 180,000 BTU/h with 8.5 GPM; and NPN-199E fires 10,700 to 199,900 BTU/h with 9.5 GPM. All three share the 14.0" W × 23.0" H × 9.3" D cabinet, weigh 55 lb on the 160E and 60 lb on the larger two, and connect on 3/4" water and gas lines per the product pages.
The NPN-E pages are on navieninc.com; the NPN launch press release also appears on navieninc.ca, but no Canadian availability statement was found on the product pages, so Canadian availability is recorded as unknown. Where a home needs space heating as well as hot water, Navien's combi boilers (NCB-H, NFC-H) are the boiler products, and the NPN-E can be cascaded with other NPN units for larger DHW loads.

Services for Navien boilers
They are the same non-condensing platform: the U (universal) models install indoors or outdoors, while the E (exterior) models are configured for outdoor wall-hung installation. Ratings, cabinet dimensions and flow are the same.
No. It is a non-condensing tankless water heater for domestic hot water only. Navien's combi boilers are the NCB-H and NFC-H series; a home needing heating plus hot water from one appliance needs a combi, not an NPN-E.
Yes. Navien's launch materials state the NPN series has cascade capability with other NPN units and recirculation control on board; the NPN installation manual covers the manifold configurations and clearances a licensed installer must follow.
