What actually separates them

Bryan's submittals print the BFIT 1000 at 100,000–999,000 BTU/hr input and 969,000 BTU/hr output with 97% efficiency and <10 ppm NOx, against the BFIT 1500 at 150,000–1,500,000 BTU/hr input and 1,440,000 BTU/hr output with 96% efficiency and <20 ppm NOx.

The fuel row also changes: the 1000 accepts Natural Gas or LP, while the 1500 submittal prints Natural Gas ONLY. Venting and gas connections step up to 8" and 1-1/4", and the cabinet grows to 26 3/8" × 55 3/8" × 40 1/4" from 25 5/8" × 52 3/8" × 38 1/2".

Both retain 10:1 turndown, ASME Section IV 160 PSIG / 210°F ratings, the 2" water connections and the ten-year limited pressure vessel warranty. The 1500's higher electrical draw is 10 A against 8 A.
