What actually separates them

The 33-124 covers 33–124 MBH input and 30.4–110.3 MBH output, against the 29-106's 28.5–106 MBH input and 26.3–94.3 MBH output. Both are rated 94% AFUE, so the step up buys capacity rather than efficiency.

The DHW side improves more noticeably: maximum flow rises from 3.3 to 4.0 USgpm, while activation stays at 0.5 USgpm and DHW temperatures remain 104–149°F. The 33-124 also carries the larger 0.5 USG (1.9 L) vessel and an 11 USgpm maximum boiler flow against the 29-106's 10 USgpm.

Both models weigh 85 lb (39 kg), and both carry the DC table's 8.9–32.3 kW output-kW figure — on the 29-106 it duplicates the 33-124 column and conflicts with the HC table's 7.7–27.6 kW. The 29-106 is covered by manual 120-183-A-R9; the 33-124 is not named in either captured DC I&O manual.
