What actually separates them

The 2200 runs 235 to 2200 MBH at 95.6% thermal efficiency with a 2,103 MBH heating capacity and a 1,829 MBH Net AHRI rating. Weight, connections and venting are unchanged: 1,710 lb on the page (2,140 lb with water per the I&O manual), 1 1/2 in NPT male gas, 3 in grooved water connections and 8 in air inlet and flue runs to 150 ft.

Both are heating-only commercial fire-tube boilers under the FTG I&O manual's 10% Canada altitude derate. With the same minimum fire and physical class, the choice is simply whether the plant-demand calculation needs more than 2,000 MBH — if it does not, the 2000 keeps the higher efficiency rating.
