Maximum input is the only separator: 311,000 BTU (91 kW) for the 311 against 352,000 BTU (103 kW) for the 352. Because minimum fire is identical, the larger model costs nothing in low-load behaviour — the extra 41 MBH is pure headroom at the top of the range.
