The Buderus SSB is Bosch's commercial stainless-steel condensing boiler family sold in Canada in two generations: SSB Gen 1 with dual 316L heat exchangers and SSB Gen 2 with dual 441 heat exchangers. Single modules are the SSB800, SSB1000 and SSB1000TL; factory-cascaded blocks SSB1000TL2/TL3/TL4 reach 4,096,000 BTU/hr input with up to 40:1 turndown.

AHRI-certified thermal efficiency printed for every SSB800, SSB1000, SSB1000TL and SSB1000TL2/TL3/TL4 column in the Gen 2 (08.2025) and Gen 1 (10.2020) engineering submittal sheets. Combustion efficiency is printed 97.6% for SSB800 and 95.4% for SSB1000/SSB1000TL and the cascade blocks.
Bosch's Canadian condensing catalog lists two commercial SSB products: 'Buderus Stainless Steel Boiler (SSB) Gen 1' with an 800 to 8192 MBH output range and 'Buderus Stainless Steel Boiler (SSB) Gen 2' (marked NEW) with a 798 to 8192 MBH output range. Both pages describe a small 31.5" x 36" footprint, a circulator pump on each module, a non-prorated 10-year heat-exchanger warranty, the SSB Low Loss Header in 3-inch and 5-inch sizes, and cascading of up to four SSB1000TL units without additional venting parts (up to eight with accessories).
The engineering submittal sheets carry the ratings this hub's models use. SSB800 fires 79,800 to 798,000 BTU/hr; SSB1000 and SSB1000TL fire 100,000 to 1,024,000 BTU/hr; all three are rated 96.8% AHRI thermal efficiency, with 97.6% combustion efficiency on the SSB800 and 95.4% on the SSB1000/1000TL. Gross output is 772,000 BTU/hr (SSB800) and 991,000 BTU/hr (SSB1000/SSB1000TL), and the cascade blocks multiply those figures across two, three or four modules (SSB1000TL2/TL3/TL4) with 20:1, 30:1 and 40:1 turndown. Every module is ASME Section IV, CSA-approved for the USA and Canada, and AHRI-certified.
The two generations differ in materials and components rather than ratings: Gen 1 uses 316L stainless steel heat exchangers and a multi-speed circulator per module; Gen 2 moves to dual 441 stainless steel heat exchangers, a Honeywell Rambler gas valve, a Grundfos 43-110F 115/230 V pump and an improved condensate collector with integrated clapet valve. Boilers.ca lists each generation as its own set of model records so buyers can match the rating plate on their unit.
