HTP EFW-340WBN in practice

The EFW-340WBN is a wall-mount, condensing, stainless-steel fire-tube boiler in HTP's current EFW Series. The official rating table prints 39.9–340 MBH input, 324 MBH heating capacity, a 282 MBH net AHRI water rating and 95.4% thermal efficiency on the ASME 'H' SA240-S43932 down-fired fire-tube heat exchanger; the 4" vent/air connection runs to the page's 4" up to 100 ft limit in PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or stainless steel.

The unit carries a 10:1 modulating burner with direct-spark ignition, a built-in ECM circulation arrangement on the primary loop, an integrated low-water cut-off with test switch, and the advanced Honeywell Sola boiler controller with a backlit screen, 2 central-heat inputs (high and low temperature), DHW priority, outdoor reset with the supplied 10k outdoor sensor, warm-weather shutdown, Modbus RTU and lead-lag cascade of up to eight EFW boilers. It mounts on the wall as standard (floor kit optional, HTP P/N 6000084630), weighs 250 lb with water and holds 7.1 gal; power is 120 V / 1 Ph / 60 Hz at less than 12 A.

The EFW ships factory-set for natural gas and converts to propane with the documented conversion kits; capacity is derated 4% per 1,000 ft above 2,000 ft. HTP backs the line with the 15-year limited warranty document shared with the ELU/EFTU (registered installations extend pressure-vessel coverage through year 15), and the product page advertises a free 5-year parts warranty when registered upon installation. Boilers.ca found no official statement of Canadian sales, so canadianStatus stays 'unknown'; gas, combustion and venting work belongs with a licensed contractor against the EFW I&O manual (420011327000).

Best suited to

  • Homes or light-commercial loads whose heat-loss calculation fits inside 340 MBH of input
  • Wall-mounted installations with long vent runs (the page allows up to 150 ft on the 285)
  • Owners wanting the Honeywell Sola control with Modbus RTU and 8-boiler cascade capability
