IBC SFT-1 F016 — DHW outlet temperature sensor mounting fault
F016
The DHW outlet temperature is not changing while the unit is fired, which tells the controller the DHW outlet sensor may not be mounted correctly on the outlet pipe.
Applies to
This fault is shown by the numeric-display touch panel control on Superflow SFT-1 tankless water heaters (SFT 199-1), as documented in IBC Installation & Operating Instructions — SFT 199-1 tankless water heater, doc 84160406, sections 5.3.1–5.3.3.
Controller: numeric-display touch panel control. Source manual: 84160406 (2024-09).
Why a code is not a diagnosis
The sensor may be loose or poorly seated on the DHW outlet pipe. The code is about mounting/response, not necessarily a dead sensor.
Safe things to observe
- Note the code; hot-water temperature may be less stable until it is corrected.
Do not
- Do not open the appliance to adjust the sensor yourself.
How professional service helps
- A technician verifies the DHW outlet sensor is properly mounted on the outlet pipe and responds correctly while the unit fires.
