IBC SFT-1 F028 — Reset button fault

F028

Needs attentionIBC Superflow SFT-1 tankless water heater with the numeric-display control

The controller detects the reset (wrench) button being activated unintentionally — for example pressed continuously by something leaning on the panel or during cleaning. It flags the input as suspect.

Applies to

This fault is shown by the numeric-display touch panel control on Superflow SFT-1 tankless water heaters (SFT 199-1), as documented in IBC Installation & Operating Instructions — SFT 199-1 tankless water heater, doc 84160406, sections 5.3.1–5.3.3.

Controller: numeric-display touch panel control. Source manual: 84160406 (2024-09).

Why a code is not a diagnosis

The cause is usually physical (something pressing the button) or a failing control panel. The code does not distinguish.

Safe things to observe

  • Check whether anything is leaning against the control panel or if the button is stuck.
  • If nothing is touching the panel and the code persists, call a technician.

Do not

  • Do not force or pry the reset button.

How professional service helps

  1. A technician checks the reset button for unintended operation and replaces the control module if the button input is faulty.
