NTI Trinity TFT60 in practice

The TFT60 is one of the eight wall-hung condensing models in NTI's discontinued Trinity TFT line, documented in the Trinity Tft 60-399 Installation and Operation Instructions (99984535, V.2024-04-08). Table 2-1 lists it at 17–60 MBH CSA input modulation with a 56 MBH DOE heating capacity and a 48 MBH Net I=B=R rating. The manual's 95% AFUE figure covers the TFT60 through the TFT285.

The model connects with 1" NPT male water connections and a 1/2" NPT male gas connection, and the manual specifies 2 or 3 in vent/air-inlet piping. The discontinued TFT page lists 2" or 3" runs up to 100 ft each side; on LP the 2" run is limited to 35 ft on the TFT60-85, a with-water weight of 110 lb and 3.2 gallons of boiler water content for this size. NTI lists the TFT under Discontinued and describes the current TFTN as built on the same platform with a redesigned control, so TFT owners and technicians rely on the 99984535 manual and the discontinued page's submittals.

Best suited to

  • Homes whose heat-loss calculation lands near the low end of the TFT range
  • Retrofits wanting the smallest TFT cabinet and 2" venting
  • Systems where 95% AFUE meets the efficiency target
