F15

Needs attentionWeil-McLain AquaBalance Series 2 (A## hard lockouts and F## soft lockouts, manual 550-100-325)

Minimum and maximum frequency feedback from fan error. If the controller measures fan frequency lower than 20Hz or higher than 295Hz, the error is set after 15 seconds and heat demands are disabled. The table classifies it as Soft Lock-out – Automatic Reset.

Applies to

This venting or air-supply fault code is displayed by the AquaBalance control (A##/F## fault codes) on AquaBalance Series 2 models (AB-80, AB-120, AB-155 and combi AB-80C, AB-120C, AB-155C), as documented in AquaBalance Series 2 Boiler Manual, doc 550-100-325/0924 (fault code tables 3 and 4) (550-100-325/0924). Codes can differ between controller generations, so always check the manual that matches your unit.

Controller: AquaBalance control (A##/F## fault codes). Source manual: 550-100-325/0924 (2024-09).

Why a code is not a diagnosis

A venting or air-supply code points at the combustion-air path: a blocked terminal, a restricted flue, a failed fan, or a condensate restriction. It does not say which, and running an appliance with a blocked flue is unsafe.

Safe things to observe

  • If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds anywhere in the building, leave immediately and call 911 from outside.
  • From a safe distance, check that the vent terminal and combustion-air inlet are not blocked.
  • Do not run the appliance while a blockage is suspected.

Do not

  • Do not put anything into the vent or air-intake openings.
  • Do not remove or modify vent pipe.

How professional service helps

  1. A technician inspects the full vent and combustion-air path, clears blockages and checks the fan.
  2. Combustion and safety devices are verified with an analyser and the manufacturer's procedure after any repair.

Can I clear this code myself?
