Weil-McLain Simplicity 199-C in practice
The Simplicity 199-C tops the line at 199 MBH input with 184 MBH of DOE heating capacity, a 160 MBH net AHRI rating and 95% AFUE, plus the strongest DHW delivery of the series — 5.3 GPM at a 70°F rise per the brochure's flow table. Like every Simplicity it can run as a combi or heat-only boiler.
The 199-C is the physically largest Simplicity: a 20 x 20 x 34 inch cabinet at 122 lb with 3.8 gallons of water content, 1" male NPT heating connections and 3/4" male NPT DHW connections. Its venting rule matches the ECO Tec 199 — 50 equivalent feet maximum in 2" pipe — and the brochure notes PVC is 3" only on this size, so most installations run 3".
Best suited to
- Larger homes with real heating loads near 200 MBH
- Households with heavy or simultaneous hot-water draws
- Buyers who can run 3" venting for the full 100-ft allowance
