What actually separates them

Both are heating-only wall-hung boilers with no DHW coil: the 13-50 covers 13.5–51 MBH input (3.95–14.94 kW) and 12.4–45.4 MBH output (3.64–13.3 kW), while the 23-84 covers 23–84 MBH input (6.7–24.9 kW) and 21.2–74.8 MBH output (6.2–21.9 kW). Both are rated 94% AFUE.

The published common rows are identical: 43.5 psig maximum space-heating pressure with a supplied 30 psig relief valve, 5–14" w.c. gas, 50–194°F water, 12,000 ft altitude, 120 ft of 3" / 35 ft of 2" venting per side, 9 USgpm maximum and 2 USgpm minimum flow, and 0.37 USG (1.4 L) of vessel water.

The only physical difference is weight — 84 lb (38 kg) on the 13-50 versus 85 lb (39 kg) on the 23-84 — and the power draw, 126 W at full fire on both. Manuals differ: 120-185-A-R10 for the 13-50, 120-185-A-R9 for the 23-84. Both are discontinued.
