Comparison

Slant/Fin Victory VSPH-90 vs VSPH-120

Verdict in brief

The VSPH-90 and VSPH-120 are the second and third Victory VSPH sizes — discontinued NON-condensing cast-iron direct-vent boilers with identical 3" AL29-4C stainless venting and 50 psi MAWP. The 120 fires 120,000 Btuh across 5 sections (against 90,000 Btuh across 4) and its Saf-T flue allowance steps down a band sooner: 40/35/30 ft by elevation versus 40/40/35 ft on the 90.

What actually separates them

Both boilers are cast-iron, NON-condensing, floor-standing direct-vent units of the discontinued VSPH series — mechanically induced draft, positive-pressure flue in 3" UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel, HydroStat 3000 control, 50 psi ASME MAWP with a 30 psi relief valve, natural gas or field-converted LP.

The VSPH-120 adds 30,000 Btuh of fixed input (120,000 vs 90,000) and a fifth cast-iron section; jacket width (A) grows from 14-1/8" to 17-1/8" and dimension B from 20-3/8" to 23-3/8" per Figure 1.

Its larger fire costs flue length at elevation: on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems the 120 is allowed 40 ft only to 5,000 ft, then 35 ft (5,000–7,500 ft) and 30 ft (7,500–10,000 ft), while the 90 holds 40 ft to 7,500 ft before dropping to 35 ft. Air intake stays 40 ft on both below 7,500 ft.

Frequently asked questions

What does the VSPH-120 add over the VSPH-90?

30,000 Btuh of input (120,000 vs 90,000) and one more cast-iron section (5 vs 4); jacket width (A) rises from 14-1/8" to 17-1/8".

How do their flue limits compare?

The 120 drops to 35 ft above 5,000 ft and 30 ft above 7,500 ft; the 90 holds 40 ft to 7,500 ft and 35 ft above, on Saf-T / EZ Seal systems.

Are both discontinued?

Yes — Slant/Fin lists the whole Victory VSPH line under 'Vintage', and the 2018 heat-exchanger recall notices apply to the series.
