Slant/Fin VSPH-120

The Slant/Fin Victory VSPH-120 fires 120,000 Btuh fixed input across 5 cast-iron sections: a discontinued, NON-condensing, floor-standing direct-vent boiler whose 3" stainless flue steps down from 40 to 30 ft with elevation.

Slant/Fin VSPH-120 in practice

The VSPH-120 sits in the middle of the Victory VSPH series: a cast-iron, gas-fired, floor-standing boiler that is NOT condensing, firing a fixed 120,000 Btuh across 5 cast-iron sections. It is mechanically induced draft with a sealed-combustion direct-vent, positive-pressure flue in 3" UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel only, and carries the factory condensate drain and water trap for partial flue-gas condensation in the blower discharge. Jacket width (A) is 17-1/8" with dimension B 23-3/8" per Figure 1 (+1-1/2" height and 28-1/2" depth with the combustible floor kit).

The I&O venting table allows 40 ft of flue at 0–5,000 ft elevation, 35 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 30 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems (air intake 40 ft at all altitudes); Z-Flex Z-Vent (35/30/25 ft) and ProTech FasNSeal (30/25/20 ft) runs are shorter. The HydroStat 3000 control (LED diagnostics) runs natural gas or field-converted LP at 50 psi ASME MAWP with a 30 psi relief valve.

The line is discontinued — Slant/Fin lists the VSPH under 'Vintage' — and the official library page hosts 2018 heat-exchanger RECALL notices that owners of a VSPH-120 should check for their unit's date range. canadianStatus stays 'unknown'; gas and venting work belongs with a licensed contractor.

Best suited to

  • Mid-size homes with a 120,000 Btuh-class direct-vent load in stainless steel venting
  • Owners verifying VSPH-120 vent-run limits by altitude and recall status
  • Documenting the middle of the discontinued Victory VSPH range

Frequently asked questions

What are the VSPH-120's basic specs?

120,000 Btuh fixed input, 5 cast-iron sections, 17-1/8" jacket width (A) and dimension B 23-3/8" per the VSPH I&O manual.

How long a flue can the VSPH-120 run?

40 ft maximum equivalent at 0–5,000 ft, 35 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 30 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems.

Is the VSPH-120 condensing?

No — non-condensing cast iron with a direct-vent positive-pressure flue that must be 3" AL29-4C stainless steel.
