False flame signal. The unit senses flame when the control is not telling it to run. Look into the window: if there is flame, turn the gas off at the service valve and replace the gas valve. If the flame signal on the status menu is greater than 1.0 when the burner is not lit, replace the spark igniter and the flame rectification probe. If the signal is not present after turning off the gas supply, check the gas valve electrical connection; check for condensate backup (a partially filled combustion chamber can damage the refractory wall and it should be replaced). The table classifies it as Lockout (Manual Reset).
If you smell gas
- Stop what you are doing. Do not use phones, switches, matches or anything that can spark inside.
- Go outside and leave the door open behind you.
- Call the FortisBC 24-hour emergency line at 1-800-663-9911 or dial 911.
