HTP PHE130-80 in practice

The PHE130-80 combines a 80-gallon 316L stainless steel storage tank with a 130,000 BTU/hr modulating condensing burner and a 100,000 BTU/hr pre-plumbed hydronic heating module. The official mktlit-03 table prints a 265 lb shipping weight, 2" vent connection, 160°F maximum water heater outlet temperature, 1" NPT relief connection, 1" gas line and 95% efficiency in the rating table (first hour rating 227 gal and 150 GPH recovery at a 100°F rise).

The retired Versa-Hydro page describes the appliance as the first device in the U.S. able to provide domestic hot water and space heating in one compact unit, 'the equivalent of a 135,000 BTU boiler, an indirect water heater, and a buffer tank', with up to a 96% thermal efficiency rating and 130k/199k BTU inputs in natural gas and liquid propane. LP-328 prints a 1" NPT system line connection, 15 psi working system pressure, a relief valve designed for above 30 psi, a 5:1 turndown and a 12-year limited warranty.
