About the Pioneer (discontinued)

HTP's retired Pioneer page describes 'a 55 gallon high mass unit, available in 4 BTU ranges - 100, 130, 160, and 199K' with 'up to a 95% thermal efficiency rating and a five to one turndown ratio', a built-in buffer tank, SCAQMD Rule 1146.2 compliance and a 12 year limited warranty. The printed page table and LP-325 Table 4 both list PHR100-55 (35,000-100,000, 95%), PHR130-55 (35,000-130,000, 94%), PHR160-55 (40,000-160,000, 95%) and PHR199-55 (40,000-199,000, 95%), each with a 260 lb shipping weight.

LP-325 Table 4 supplies the rating rows used on the model records: a 55-gallon 304L stainless steel buffer tank, 23" x 56" x 34" dimensions, 1-1/4" NPT female supply/return with 3/4" NPT gas and a 1" NPT drain, a 30 PSI maximum water pressure, the 926 SIT control and venting (2" 85 ft / 3" 125 ft on the 100/130; 3" 200 ft / 4" 200 ft on the 160/199). The heat exchanger is 90/10 cupronickel primary with 800H stainless steel and cupronickel secondary tubing.

The Pioneer is retired: HTP's discontinued-products index lists 'Pioneer' and the retired page remains as documentation. Boilers.ca records the line with productStatus 'discontinued' and canadianStatus 'unknown'; no official Canadian sales statement was found. Owners should have the unit serviced by a licensed contractor against LP-325.
