Noritz NRCB199DV in practice

The NRCB199DV tops the NRCB series: its standard (DHW) side fires 18,000 to 199,900 BTU/h with DHW flow of 0.4 to 11.1 GPM, while heating-mode input runs 18,000 to 120,000 BTU/h, all at 95.0% AFUE per the official product page. Like the NRCB180DV it is a wall-hung condensing combi built around 316L stainless steel primary and secondary heat exchangers with a low-NOx premix burner, marketed by Noritz for simultaneous domestic hot water and space heating.

Physically the NRCB199DV is identical to the NRCB180DV: 27" high by 18.5" wide by 12.8" deep, 95 lb, 1" heating water connections with 3/4" DHW and gas connections, and sealed combustion direct venting in 2" or 3" PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or stainless steel pipe (ULC S636-certified plastic venting in Canada). What the 199 adds is headroom at the top of both ranges, which is what a larger home or a heavier hot-water draw needs.

Noritz stocks the NRCB at its Vancouver, BC warehouse for Canadian wholesaler orders effective August 1, 2025, and the shared NRCB installation manual (SBB80UB-5, Rev. 04/21) covers US and Canadian codes (CSA B149.1). Boilers.ca found no Canadian CRN registration numbers or Canadian warranty terms on noritz.com; purchases run through wholesaler-distributors.

Best suited to

  • Larger homes whose heat-loss calculation needs up to 120 MBH of heating input
  • Households with heavier hot-water draws wanting DHW input to 199,900 BTU/h and flow to 11.1 GPM
  • Combi replacements where the load outgrows the NRCB180DV but the same cabinet must fit the wall
