Viessmann Vitocrossal 200 CM2-311 in practice

The CM2-311 tops the small size range of the Vitocrossal 200 CM2 series before the line steps to the CM2-400's much larger chassis. Its natural-gas input prints from 222,000 to 1,112,000 BTU (65 to 326 kW) — input beyond one million BTU in the 792 lb (359 kg) small-chassis cabinet.

With the CM2-186 and CM2-246 it is covered by the 186–311 service instructions (doc 5584 109 - 16, 05/2021), and it prints the small range's 95% combustion efficiency and 5:1 turndown ratio. At 792 lb it is 33 lb heavier than the CM2-246.

Series features include the Inox-Crossal stainless steel heat exchanger, pre-mix cylinder burner, GW6B control with cascade control of up to eight boilers, common venting of up to four boilers, altitude operation to 10,000 ft with electronic adjustment and no dedicated boiler pump required.

Best suited to

  • Commercial loads up to about 1112 MBH that fit the CM2 small chassis
  • Plants wanting more than 1000 MBH of input before stepping to the large CM2 cabinet
  • Multi-boiler rooms standardizing on the 186–311 manual range
