IBC SFC-1 F042 — Cascade DHW not available
F042
In a cascade installation, the controller reports that cascade domestic hot water is not available, usually because another lockout in the cascade system is unresolved or the cascade settings are wrong.
Applies to
This fault is shown by the numeric-display touch panel control on Superflow SFC-1 combi boilers (SFC 99-1, SFC 125-1 and SFC 199-1), as documented in IBC Installation & Operating Instructions — SFC-1 combi boilers, doc 84156406, sections 5.3.1–5.3.3.

Controller: numeric-display touch panel control. Source manual: 84156406 (2024-09).
Why a code is not a diagnosis
The fault names the cascade DHW function, not the underlying problem: another unit may be locked out, or the Leader/Follower parameter settings may not match.
Safe things to observe
- Check whether any other unit in the cascade is showing a fault code.
- If the building still has heat but no cascade hot water, report both symptoms when you call.
Do not
- Do not change cascade Leader/Follower settings yourself.
How professional service helps
- A technician resolves other lockouts in the cascade, verifies the Leader/Follower settings, and checks cascade communication in the information menus.
