IBC SFC 125-1 Superflow in practice

The SFC 125-1 combines space heating and hot water in one cast-aluminium heat exchanger with two independent copper waterways. It is the middle of the SFC line, and its defining feature is that IBC caps the space-heating input at 99 MBH while allowing 125 MBH for hot-water production, so the boiler is not oversized for heating just to satisfy DHW.

At 3.2 GPM continuous DHW delivery (67°F rise, per IBC's Canadian page) it suits a household with larger or more frequent hot-water draws than the SFC 99-1 comfortably covers, while still fitting on a wall with 2" or 3" PVC, CPVC or PPs venting.

The controller shows numeric fault codes (F-series) rather than text alerts; the fault table is documented on this site against IBC's installation instructions so a homeowner can report the exact code when calling for service.

Why is the heating input capped at 99 MBH on the SFC 125-1?

IBC publishes the SFC 125-1 with 16.5-99 MBH CSA heating input but up to 125 MBH DHW input. The boiler is sized by both loads; the DHW rating does not mean the heating side is 125 MBH.

How much hot water can the SFC 125-1 deliver?
