Ideal Exalt Floor 199 in practice
The Exalt Floor 199 tops the floor-standing Exalt range at 199,000 BTU/h input with a 24,875 BTU/h minimum, an 8:1 turndown, a 184 MBH DOE heating capacity and a 159 MBH AHRI net rating, all at 95% AFUE. It suits larger homes and small commercial loads that want the floor-standing format's included separator and pump.
The cabinet is 22 x 41 x 22 inches at 169 lb with 4 gallons of water volume, and the model ships with the Caleffi 548 series separator with air elimination and a pre-installed internal circulator. Venting is 3-inch up to 100 equivalent feet; the 2-inch option published for the smaller floor models does not appear on the 199 row. Connections are 3/4-inch gas and 1-inch supply/return (1-1/4-inch FPT with the separator).
The CTRLMax control carries the series' features — plain-text diagnostics, outdoor reset, DHW priority and configurable circulator outputs — and the integrated cascade function supports up to six boilers. As a heat-only model it needs a separate DHW source. Natural-gas (IDEXFS199S) and propane (IDEXFS199SLP) versions are published. No explicit Canadian sales statement was found on the official pages checked on 2026-09-09; the Exalt and Gallant submittals list ANSI Z21.13 and CSA 4.9 compliance, so Boilers.ca records canadianStatus as unknown.
Best suited to
