About the Exalt Floor (heat-only)

The Exalt Floor heat-only series is the floor-standing version of the Exalt residential platform, aimed at installations where a wall-hung boiler is not the first choice — retrofits with existing floor space, or systems that benefit from the included hydraulic separator. Three models are published — 110, 155 and 199 MBH — all rated 95% AFUE with an 8:1 turndown, AHRI net ratings of 89, 123 and 159 MBH, and a stainless steel fire-tube heat exchanger. Natural-gas and propane versions are listed for each size (IDEXFS110S / IDEXFS110SLP, and so on).

The floor-standing chassis adds features the wall models do not list: a Caleffi 548 series separator with air elimination, a pre-installed internal circulator, and left-or-right connections for water and gas. The cabinet measures 22 x 41 x 22 inches and weighs 145 lb (110), 157 lb (155) and 169 lb (199); water volume is 2, 3 and 4 gallons respectively. An integrated cascade function joins up to six Exalt floor boilers, and the supplied separator's outlet is 1-1/4-inch FPT when the Caleffi 548 is used.

Venting matches the wall series: 3-inch venting up to 100 equivalent feet, plus 2-inch venting up to 33 feet on the 110 and 155. The CTRLMax control provides plain-text diagnostics, outdoor reset, DHW priority and configurable circulator outputs. For BC projects the floor platform is often chosen where a mechanical-room floor is available and the installer wants the separator and circulator factory-mounted rather than assembled on site.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Exalt Floor include that the Exalt Wall does not?

The floor-standing model ships with a Caleffi 548 series separator with air elimination and a pre-installed internal circulator, plus the flexibility of left-or-right water and gas connections. Both share the CTRLMax control and 8:1 turndown.

How many Exalt Floor boilers can be cascaded?

The official page lists an integrated cascade function for up to six boilers, and a cascade wiring engineering bulletin is published for the series.

Is the Exalt Floor a combi boiler?

No. The Exalt Floor heat-only models (110, 155, 199) heat the building only. The Exalt Floor Combi models (155, 199) add on-demand domestic hot water through a plate heat exchanger.
