HTP EFTU-199WCN in practice
The EFTU-199WCN is a wall-hung combination boiler of HTP's current Elite Fire Tube Ultra line — the code reads wall-hung (W), combi (C), natural gas (N), with propane conversion kits included. It fires 19.9 to 199.0 MBH for central heating and the same printed 19.9–199.0 MBH range for domestic hot water, at 95% DOE AFUE with 184 MBH DOE heating capacity and a 160 MBH net AHRI water rating. The official table prints DHW flows of 10.5 GPM at a 35 °F rise, 8.2 GPM at 45 °F and 4.8 GPM at 77 °F, with 2.8 gal of boiler water content and a 132 lb shipping weight.
It uses the SA-240-S43932 stainless steel vertical fire-tube heat exchanger (down-fired, ASME 'H') shared by the line, a 10:1 turndown, built-in ECM pump and the AristonThermo GALEVO2 control with LCD. The 199 model must be vented in 3" diameter pipe — exhaust runs 6–150 ft in 3" (6–100 ft in 2" where allowed) and the intake 0–150 ft in 3" (0–100 ft in 2" where allowed), in PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or stainless steel, as a Category IV sealed-combustion direct-vent appliance. CH connections are 1-1/4" male NPT with 3/4" NPT gas; DHW inlet and outlet are 3/4" NPT on the combi models.
The combi models add the DHW setpoint range of 97–149 °F and produce domestic hot water directly, removing the separate tank. HTP backs the EFTU with a 15-year limited residential warranty when registered online. Boilers.ca records no official statement of Canadian sales, so canadianStatus stays 'unknown'; gas and combustion work belongs with a licensed contractor against LP-723 (Revision date 2.23.22).
Best suited to
- Homes whose heat-loss calculation and hot-water draw fit a 199 MBH wall-hung combi
- Projects replacing a tank plus boiler with one wall-hung appliance
- Installations that can vent in 3" pipe (mandatory on the 199)

Frequently asked questions
How much hot water does the EFTU-199WCN deliver?
The official table prints 10.5 GPM at a 35 °F rise, 8.2 GPM at 45 °F and 4.8 GPM at a 77 °F rise, with DHW input matching the central-heating range of 19.9 to 199 MBH.
Does the EFTU-199WCN need a separate hot-water tank?
No — the WCN models are combis: the boiler produces domestic hot water directly at the printed DHW setpoint range of 97–149 °F. The WBN boiler models need an indirect tank.
Can the EFTU-199WCN vent in 2" pipe?
No. LP-723 states 199/199C models must be vented in 3" diameter pipe (exhaust 6–150 ft, intake 0–150 ft).
