IBC SL G3 “Low module current” alert
Error – Low Module Current
The manual lists this alert when the current drawn by the gas valve circuit stays below its expected range (starting below 25 mA or staying below 20 mA). The control uses this current check to confirm the gas valve and its wiring are healthy before and during firing.

Why a code is not a diagnosis
Low current can mean a wiring or harness fault, a failing gas valve coil, excessive resistance in external safety circuits wired in series with the valve, or a supply-voltage problem. It does not mean the gas valve is leaking; it is an electrical-circuit check.
Safe things to observe
- Note the alert text and whether the boiler fired at all before it appeared.
- If you smell gas at any point, leave the building and call FortisBC at 1-800-663-9911 or 911 from outside.
- Leave the boiler cabinet closed; there is no homeowner-accessible check for this alert.
Do not
- Do not attempt to test or repair the gas valve or its wiring.
- Do not reset the boiler more than once if this alert returns.
