IBC SL G3 “Low RPM / air flow” alert
Error – Low RPM / Air Flow
The manual lists this alert when the combustion fan is below 1,150 RPM at the end of fan pre-purge, or below 100 RPM during heating. The control needs a verified fan speed before it can safely manage combustion air.
If a carbon-monoxide alarm sounds
- Leave the building immediately and get fresh air.
- Call 911. Do not go back inside until emergency services say it is safe.
- Have every fuel-burning appliance inspected before use.

Why a code is not a diagnosis
Low fan speed can come from a blocked vent or combustion-air intake, a failing fan or fan bearing, a loose or damaged wiring connection, or a control fault. The alert does not identify which; the vent path and the fan circuit are checked separately.
Safe things to observe
- Note the alert and whether the fan sounds noisy, rattles or does not spin at all.
- From a safe distance, check the vent terminal and combustion-air inlet for visible blockage.
- If a CO alarm sounds, leave the building and call 911 from outside.
Do not
- Do not poke anything into the fan or vent openings.
- Do not keep resetting the boiler while the fan or vent fault is unresolved.
