About the 16 Series

The 16 Series is Pennco's gas-fired cast-iron steam boiler, published on the official site under Boilers – Gas with the size list '75 - 112 - 150 - 187.5 - 225 - 262.5 - 299 MBH'. The sell sheet describes an assembled boiler with insulated jacket and a completely installed and wired gas control system: titanium composite burners, a gas manifold with orifices, an automatic redundant combination gas valve with pilot filter and regulator, intermittent pilot control with continuous retry and 100% shut-off, a combination pilot burner/electrode/flame sensor and an integral draft diverter. Standard equipment also includes a 24-volt transformer, flame roll-out safety shut-off fuse link, blocked vent safety shut-off (spill switch), electronic low-water cut-off with 3/4-inch probe, pressure limit control, steam pressure gauge, glass water level gauge, 3/4-inch boiler drain valve, 15 psi ASME pop safety valve and two 2-1/2-inch square-head pipe plugs. Electrical requirement is 120 V ac, 60 Hz, single phase, less than 12 amps.

The sell sheet prints AHRI certified ratings as natural-gas/LP pairs: 1603HSID (75/70 MBH input, 62/58 MBH heating capacity, 47/44 MBH net steam, 195/183 sq ft, 82.7% AFUE, 5" flue, 297 lb), 1604HSID (112/105, 91/85, 68/64, 283/267, 82.0%, 6", 368 lb), 1605HSID (150/140, 122/114, 92/86, 383/358, 82.0%, 6", 440 lb), 1606HSID (187/175, 153/143, 115/107, 479/446, 82.0%, 7", 512 lb), 1607HSID (225/210, 183/171, 137/128, 570/533, 82.0%, 7", 584 lb), 1608HSID (262/245, 214/200, 161/150, 670/625, 82.0%, 7", 659 lb) and 1609HSID (299/280, 245/229, 184/172, 766/717, 82.0%, 7", 736 lb). Net steam ratings use a piping and pickup allowance of 1.333, ratings are for sea level to 2,000 feet with a four percent reduction per 1,000 feet above that, and all sizes share a 36-3/8-inch height with 26-1/2-inch depth and widths from 11-1/4 to 30-3/4 inches.

Boilers.ca documents all seven sizes at model level from the sell sheet and links the published IOM, user manual and near-boiler piping guide. No official Canadian-sales statement was found, so canadianStatus stays 'unknown'.
