Slant/Fin VSPH-180
The Slant/Fin Victory VSPH-180 is the largest VSPH: 180,000 Btuh fixed input across 7 cast-iron sections in a discontinued, NON-condensing, floor-standing direct-vent boiler with the tightest flue allowance of the series (33 ft below 5,000 ft on Saf-T systems).

Slant/Fin VSPH-180 in practice
The VSPH-180 tops the Victory VSPH series at a fixed 180,000 Btuh across 7 cast-iron sections — a cast-iron, gas-fired, floor-standing boiler that is NOT condensing. Mechanically induced draft with a sealed-combustion direct-vent, positive-pressure flue, it vents only in 3" UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel, with a factory condensate drain and water trap for partial flue-gas condensation in the blower discharge. Jacket width (A) is 23-1/8" with dimension B 29-3/8" per Figure 1 (+1-1/2" height and 28-1/2" depth with the combustible floor kit).
As the largest size the VSPH-180 carries the shortest flue allowance in the series: 33 ft at 0–5,000 ft, 28 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 23 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems (air intake 40/35/30 ft); Z-Flex Z-Vent (28/23/18 ft) and ProTech FasNSeal (23/18/15 ft) run shorter still. The HydroStat 3000 control fires natural gas or field-converted LP at 50 psi ASME MAWP with a 30 psi relief valve.
The line is discontinued — listed under 'Vintage' — and the official VSPH library page hosts the 2018 heat-exchanger RECALL notices; owners of a VSPH-180 should confirm whether their unit's range is affected. canadianStatus stays 'unknown'; installation, gas and venting work belong with a licensed contractor.
Best suited to
- Large homes whose direct-vent load is a fixed 180,000 Btuh input in an installed VSPH
- Owners verifying the VSPH-180's short vent-run limits and recall status
- Documenting the flagship of the discontinued Victory VSPH cast-iron series

|---|---|---|
| Input | ||
| Input | 180 MBH | 180,000 Btuh fixed gas input per the ratings and dimensions data in the VSPH I&O manual (Pub. VSPH-41 Rev. C). |
| Domestic hot water | ||
| Domestic hot water | Heating-only boiler — domestic hot water comes from a separate indirect water heater (indirect connections supported by the control) | |
| Venting and air | ||
| Venting | Direct vent, sealed combustion — mechanically induced draft, positive-pressure flue: 3" diameter UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel only (Heat-Fab Saf-T Vent / Saf-T EZ Seal, ProTech FasNSeal, Flex-L StaR-34 or Z-Flex Z-Vent); NO PVC/plastic or galvanized flue; no vent damper; common venting not allowed | Minimum flue length 2 ft; max equivalent lengths by model and vent-system manufacturer. Combustion air intake: 3" PVC Schedule 40 or galvanized steel. Flue gas may partially condense in the blower discharge — the boiler has a factory condensate drain and water trap. |
| Max. flue equivalent length (Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal) | 33 ft (0–5,000 ft) / 28 ft (5,000–7,500 ft) / 23 ft (7,500–10,000 ft) | By elevation band 0–5,000 / 5,000–7,500 / 7,500–10,000 ft per the I&O manual's venting table; other listed systems allow shorter runs (e.g. ProTech FasNSeal). |

Frequently asked questions
What flue length does the VSPH-180 allow?
33 ft maximum equivalent at 0–5,000 ft, 28 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 23 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems — the shortest in the series.
What makes the VSPH-180 different from the VSPH-150?
Input rises from 150,000 to 180,000 Btuh, sections from 6 to 7, jacket width (A) from 20-1/8" to 23-1/8" and dimension B from 26-3/8" to 29-3/8" — while flue allowance drops from 35 to 33 ft at low elevation.
Does the VSPH-180 make domestic hot water?
No — it is heating-only; a separate indirect water heater supplies DHW.
