Slant/Fin VSPH-150
The Slant/Fin Victory VSPH-150 fires 150,000 Btuh fixed input across 6 cast-iron sections: a discontinued, NON-condensing, floor-standing direct-vent boiler whose 3" stainless flue maxes at 35 ft below 5,000 ft.

Slant/Fin VSPH-150 in practice
The VSPH-150 is the second-largest Victory VSPH: a cast-iron, gas-fired, floor-standing boiler that is NOT condensing, firing a fixed 150,000 Btuh across 6 cast-iron sections. Mechanically induced draft with a sealed-combustion direct-vent, positive-pressure flue, it must vent in 3" UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel — no PVC/plastic or galvanized flue, no vent damper, no common venting. Jacket width (A) is 20-1/8" with dimension B 26-3/8" per Figure 1 (+1-1/2" height and 28-1/2" depth with the combustible floor kit).
The I&O venting table steps the flue allowance down with size and elevation: 35 ft at 0–5,000 ft, 30 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 25 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems (air intake 40 ft below 7,500 ft, 35 ft above); Z-Flex Z-Vent allows 30/25/20 ft and ProTech FasNSeal 25/20/15 ft. The HydroStat 3000 control runs natural gas or field-converted LP at 50 psi ASME MAWP with a 30 psi relief valve.
The VSPH is discontinued and listed under 'Vintage', and the library page hosts the 2018 heat-exchanger RECALL notices — owners of a VSPH-150 should confirm their unit's status against those notices. canadianStatus stays 'unknown'; a licensed contractor handles gas, venting and combustion work.
Best suited to
- Larger homes whose direct-vent load is a fixed 150,000 Btuh input in an existing VSPH
- Owners checking VSPH-150 ratings, altitude vent limits and recall status
- Contractors documenting the upper range of the discontinued cast-iron direct-vent line

| Specification | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Input | ||
| Input | 150 MBH | 150,000 Btuh fixed gas input per the ratings and dimensions data in the VSPH I&O manual (Pub. VSPH-41 Rev. C). |
| Domestic hot water | ||
| Domestic hot water | Heating-only boiler — domestic hot water comes from a separate indirect water heater (indirect connections supported by the control) | |
| Venting and air | ||
| Venting | Direct vent, sealed combustion — mechanically induced draft, positive-pressure flue: 3" diameter UL-listed AL29-4C stainless steel only (Heat-Fab Saf-T Vent / Saf-T EZ Seal, ProTech FasNSeal, Flex-L StaR-34 or Z-Flex Z-Vent); NO PVC/plastic or galvanized flue; no vent damper; common venting not allowed | Minimum flue length 2 ft; max equivalent lengths by model and vent-system manufacturer. Combustion air intake: 3" PVC Schedule 40 or galvanized steel. Flue gas may partially condense in the blower discharge — the boiler has a factory condensate drain and water trap. |
| Max. flue equivalent length (Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal) | 35 ft (0–5,000 ft) / 30 ft (5,000–7,500 ft) / 25 ft (7,500–10,000 ft) | By elevation band 0–5,000 / 5,000–7,500 / 7,500–10,000 ft per the I&O manual's venting table; other listed systems allow shorter runs (e.g. ProTech FasNSeal). |
| Physical and connections | ||
| Cast-iron sections | 6 | Cast-iron sections assembled with metal push nipples (ASME 'H' stamp), per the VSPH I&O manual Figure 1. |
| Operating limits and other | ||
| Fuel | Natural gas or propane | Field-convertible NG-to-LP gas valve; orifice chart covers elevations to 10,000 ft (4% derate per 1,000 ft). |
| Maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) | 50 psi | 50 psi ASME working pressure with a factory-supplied 30 psi safety relief valve, per the VSPH master specification. |

Frequently asked questions
What flue length does the VSPH-150 allow?
35 ft maximum equivalent at 0–5,000 ft, 30 ft at 5,000–7,500 ft and 25 ft at 7,500–10,000 ft on Heat-Fab Saf-T / EZ Seal systems.
How does the VSPH-150 differ from the VSPH-120?
Input rises from 120,000 to 150,000 Btuh, sections from 5 to 6, jacket width (A) from 17-1/8" to 20-1/8" and dimension B from 23-3/8" to 26-3/8" — while maximum flue length falls from 40 to 35 ft at low elevation.
Is the VSPH-150 available for new installation?
No — Slant/Fin lists the VSPH under 'Vintage' and the line is discontinued; the 2018 recall notices apply to the series.
