Camus DynaFlame DFH 5001 (Near-Condensing Heating)

The Camus DynaFlame DFH 5001 is the near-condensing hydronic-heating size of Camus' stainless-steel watertube line: 4999 MBTU/hr input, 4399 MBTU/hr output, up to 88% thermal efficiency and 5:1 turndown.

Camus DynaFlame DFH 5001 (Near-Condensing Heating) in practice

Per the official DynaFlame spec sheet (99-0148 Rev 01), the DFH 5001 is rated 4999 MBTU/hr input and 4399 MBTU/hr output with a 1627 lb approximate shipping weight. It connects through the range's vertical cylindrical watertube heat exchanger — 439 stainless steel, 6-pass, 160 psig working pressure — and vents in category ii or iv near-condensing configuration.

The model is a near-condensing appliance: the spec sheet prints up to 88% thermal efficiency with a 5:1 turndown ratio (minimum 20% firing rate) and light-off at no more than 50% input. Electrical draw is 18 A at 230 V three-phase, and the vent-diameter table prints Cat. I 12", Cat. III up to 50 ft 10", Cat. III up to 100 ft 14" and outdoor 10".

As a hydronic heating boiler the DFH 5001 is design certified to ANSI Z21.13 / CSA 4.9. Camus is a Mississauga, Ontario manufacturer, and Boilers.ca reproduces the manufacturer's printed figures here; sizing a boiler plant remains a heat-loss and load calculation by a licensed contractor.

Best suited to

  • Hydronic heating plants whose design load lands near 4999 MBTU/hr input (4399 MBTU/hr output)
  • Projects wanting a near-condensing Camus watertube boiler with a Canadian-built stainless heat exchanger
  • Multiple-boiler plants: the SOLA control documented for the DynaFlame line cascades up to eight units

Frequently asked questions

Is the DynaFlame DFH 5001 condensing?

It is the near-condensing generation: the official spec sheet prints up to 88% thermal efficiency and category ii or iv near-condensing venting.

How big is the DFH 5001?

The spec sheet prints 4999 MBTU/hr input and 4399 MBTU/hr output, a 1627 lb approximate shipping weight, and 18 A at 230 V three-phase.

What fuel does the DFH 5001 use?

The spec sheets list natural gas, propane and optional dual-fuel operation; the captured sheets print natural-gas ratings and the gas train description. Fuel selection and conversion are licensed trade work.
