Laars' FT Series Wall covers both sides of the residential market in one condensing platform: the FTHW heating-only models are printed on the manual cover as 100,000, 140,000 and 199,000 BTU/h, and the FTCW combination models as 140,000 and 199,000 BTU/h with domestic hot water produced by the combi itself. The series is rated 95% AFUE and runs on the NGTB-900CP control; the installation manuals (Document 1483C for the heating-only FTHW and Document 1487C for the FTCW combi) name natural gas as the factory configuration with propane field-convertible.
The FT wall control shows two-digit numeric error codes — from code 10 for repeated flame extinction through codes for the condensate trap, sensors, fan, gas-leak detection, low-water cut-off and anti-freeze protection up to code 94 for exhaust-gas temperature. Each code is classified in the manual's Section 6.1 tables as a Soft Lock, which clears on its own when the condition is corrected, or a Hard Lock that needs an action such as turning power off and on or replacing a part.
Because the heating-only and combi manuals are separate documents (1483C and 1487C), their code tables are not identical: the combi tables add DHW and mixing-valve entries such as codes 66 and 68 for the mixing valve, while the heating-only table carries entries like code 29 for a loose connection on the PCB. Owners should read a code from the manual for the unit's own model and document number.
