Rinnai IP060S
The Rinnai IP060S is the smallest I-Series+ solo: a heating-only condensing boiler firing 15 to 60 MBH of input with no built-in hot-water production, documented from the solo I&O manual 800000191(02) at 62.6 lb.

Rinnai IP060S in practice
The IP060S is the entry heating-only model of the I-Series+ solo line: a wall-hung condensing boiler that fires 15,000 to 60,000 BTU/h for central heating and makes no domestic hot water itself. Hot water comes from an indirect tank the boiler controls — the manual's default is indirect-tank recovery priority, with parameter 33 able to permit simultaneous tank and CH operation.
At 62.6 lb (28.4 kg) it is the lightest Rinnai boiler documented on Boilers.ca, holding 0.75 gal of CH water in the small 18.5 x 11.5 in chassis. Supply connections are 3/4" NPT gas and 1" NPT heating with no DHW connections at all, and venting is 2" twin pipe to 75 equivalent feet or 3" to 160.
The solo's control shows fault codes without an E prefix, with solo-only rows such as 371 (indirect thermistor) and 831 (indirect tank temperature) in its manual's tables. Efficiency shown is the family marketing claim of up to 96% AFUE; the manual spec table prints no per-model figure.
Best suited to
- Homes that already use or prefer an indirect tank for domestic hot water
- Low-heat-loss buildings whose calculation fits under 60 MBH of input
- Owners who want heating-only simplicity without combi DHW components

Frequently asked questions
Does the IP060S make domestic hot water?
No. As a heating-only "solo" it has no DHW connections; domestic hot water is produced by an indirect tank controlled by the boiler.
How is the indirect tank controlled?
Per the solo I&O manual, the boiler defaults to indirect-tank recovery priority; parameter 33 set to "b" permits simultaneous central heating and tank recovery, and parameter 29 selects thermostat or thermistor tank control.
What are the IP060S venting limits?
75 equivalent feet in 2" twin-pipe PVC/polypropylene or 160 in 3", per the solo I&O manual (Table 20).
