Weil-McLain ECO Tec 80-H in practice
The 80-H opens the Canadian ECO Tec heat-only range at 80 MBH CSA input with 74 MBH DOE heating capacity and a 64 MBH net AHRI rating at 95.0% AFUE. It is the only ECO Tec size listed at 8:1 turndown — the 110-199 sizes modulate 10:1 — and Weil-McLain's spec table lists it at 104 lb with 2.2 gallons of boiler water content.
Like every ECO Tec, it is a Category IV direct-vent boiler: 2" or 3" PVC, CPVC, polypropylene or AL29-4C stainless steel venting to 100 equivalent feet, with a 3" boiler connection and an adapter for 2" pipe, and it needs no altitude modifications up to 2,000 ft. As a heat-only model, domestic hot water comes from an indirect tank or separate appliance.
