Weil-McLain EG-30 in practice

The EG-30 opens the eight-size EG range at 75 MBH CSA input, with 64 MBH of DOE water heating capacity and 62 MBH in steam, and net AHRI ratings of 56 MBH water and 47 MBH steam covering 196 sq ft. Like every EG size it is rated 84% AFUE in water and 82% in steam, and it ships at approximately 430 lb.

It is an atmospheric cast iron boiler with Category I, B-vent venting — vertical only, natural draft through a draft hood with an automatic vent damper and a 5" I.D. chimney collar. The manual lists a 3" supply tapping, 2-1/2" return, 1/2" gas connection and 3/4" relief tapping, with 12.3 gal of water content and 8.4 gal to the steam waterline. The EG is discontinued in Canada, where the weil-mclain.ca page sits in the Discontinued menu, while the US continues the line as Series 6 and Series 7.
