Weil-McLain EG-65 in practice
The EG-65 is the second-largest EG at 238 MBH CSA input, producing 201 MBH of DOE water heating capacity and 198 MBH in steam, with net AHRI ratings of 175 MBH water and 149 MBH steam covering 621 sq ft. It keeps the 84% water / 82% steam AFUE ratings and ships at approximately 660 lb.
It is an atmospheric cast iron boiler with Category I, B-vent vertical venting, a draft hood, an automatic vent damper and an 8" I.D. chimney collar. The EG-65 and EG-75 are the two sizes that move to a 3/4" gas connection; the manual lists a 3" supply, 2-1/2" return and 3/4" relief tapping, with 19.8 gal of water content and 12.6 gal to the steam waterline. Canada lists the EG as discontinued; the US continues the model in EG Series 6 and Series 7.
