Weil-McLain EG-50 in practice

The EG-50 is rated 175 MBH CSA input and produces 148 MBH of DOE water heating capacity and 145 MBH in steam, with net AHRI ratings of 129 MBH water and 109 MBH steam covering 454 sq ft. It carries the range's 84% water / 82% steam AFUE and ships at approximately 585 lb.

It is built as an atmospheric cast iron boiler with Category I, B-vent vertical venting, a draft hood, an automatic vent damper and a 7" I.D. chimney collar. Manual data lists a 3" supply tapping, 2-1/2" return, 1/2" gas connection and 3/4" relief tapping, with 17.3 gal of water content and 11.2 gal to the steam waterline. Canada lists the EG as discontinued; the US still sells the model within EG Series 6 and Series 7.
